TANGOALPHA3 IS EXCITED TO INTRODUCE A NEW CONTENT SERIES FOCUSED ON HIGHLIGHTING THE MANY EXCELLENT VETERANS WE’VE ASSISTED IN FINDING JOB PLACEMENTS.
The Veteran Spotlight series is a chance for us to catch up with our community of veteran talent. We discuss things like how their current job placement is going, what it was like while on the job hunt, as well as any challenges they may have faced while transitioning from the military to the private sector. In the end, it’s a great way to highlight excellent people and provide an inside vantage point into some of the services we provide and industries we serve.
We recently sat down with Christopher to catch up and ask him about his experience on the job hunt and what it’s been like since being placed at the Defense Health Agency at Holloman AFB (NM).
Christopher Del Cid
Chris is not only a Military Veteran, but his career in public service also includes having worked for the FBI. He is now a Network Specialist providing LAN/WAN support for the Defense Health Agency at Holloman AFB (NM), where he has become an integral member of the team. In fact, the customer recently sent us a short note regarding how impressed they were with Chris, as he is always willing to chip in with whatever is needed and “goes above and beyond in providing assistance to our customers to ensure that all of their issues were resolved…We would not be able to accomplish all our projects without his assistance.” Keep up the great work, Chris!
What is a typical day at work like for you?
A typical a day at work is nonstop work. I am always supporting the sites on a project they would like to see go live, which I absolutely love. The work I do at the site is sometimes challenging, but the people I work with on the network side and the ones on site are always supportive and offer their assistance when I get stuck. It has definitely been a learning experience and I have gained a lot of knowledge that will set up for success.
Did you face any challenges when you first transitioned from the military into the private sector?
Not at all. Companies like this one are super military friendly and they assist military personnel with the transition. I have a few friends who have made the transitioned and had Tangoalpha3 has their first job out, and they did not have any challenges.
What was your initial job search experience like?
I posted my resume on job sites, and within days I got a call from the company, and was hired weeks later. I use clearancejob as my primary source for job searching, because most of the jobs listed really cater to military skill sets.
How has your military training and experience helped you in the private sector?
My military training has taught me to be resilient, and to adapt to change as it comes, and that is true in every work environment. Sometimes emergencies come up and you have to react in an instant.
What advice would you give to transitioning veterans looking for their first job after leaving the military?
Post your resume on clearancejobs and other sites like indeed and start networking with others.
What has your experience been like working with TangoAlpha3?
It has been great so far. I’d say it is the best company that I have been in. They are responsive, helpful, and resourceful. I never felt like I had to fend for myself or navigate on my own. The company has really been there when I had questions or needed help on something!
